Console - shrunk action parts with wippen heel sitting directly on key capstan. Spinet - bottom of action sets below back end of keys and has connector rod from key end to wippen heel. Highly recommend reading "The Piano Book" by Larry Fine. It does a very good job of spelling out the ABCs of pianos.
