Hi Gregor,

A false beat eliminator is often made from a long thin brass rod with a
"slot" for the string in one end. It can be stroked along the string or
used to press lightly on either side of bridge pins to "seat" the string on
the bridge. Used with gentle care it can help. Often they will fit the
"universal" handle for regulating tools.
