Starr performed selections from her album of piano improvisations called 'Common Places'. Starr's music resounded around us and through us and, with the roosting birds singing their evening song in the trees outside, it was at times an ethereal experience. From her improvisations of Albinoni's 'Adagio' and Monty Norman's 'Bond Theme', to the understated beauty of 'Common Places' and 'Kenya', Starr Parodi had us captivated from the first note to the last. Her style is somewhere between Ludovico Einaudi, Craig Armstrong and Dave Grusin, with a touch of the Blues and Americana in places; one thing is for certain, she really is a 'Starr' in the making."
