old sharps

You can turn the vice into a neat sharp removing jig by taping a thin stick
of wood on each jaw to protect the sharp, then set the jaws of the vice the
correct distance apart (ever so slightly wider than the sharp), set the
sharp between the jaws, keystick up. Then simply bend the keystick towards
you. Off pops the sharp.

Salvaged materials always come in handy. To get them off, secure the sharp
in a vise
and whack the keystick. Or you could place the keystick in the vise and
tighten until you
hear crunching and knock the sharp off (not to be done when saving the
keystick).
