contract

 Hi Rick,

I don't have the customer sign a contract to that effect, but as long as the customer continues to get his or her piano tuned every 6 months or so, I keep their fee set at my pre-price-raise price, which works out to about 10%(it takes me about 3 years to raise my prices).?

I also explain to them that with more frequent tunings, I do not have to spend so much time bringing the piano up to pitch and can use remaining appointment time to deal with various other possible maintenance issues.

I make notes of any special offers I might give in my notes and on the invoice.

Hope this helps a little.

You might want to contact Robert Guenther here in Chicago (robert88guenther at sbcglobal.net) who has been doing this for many years and has a tight grip on the process. He can give you a lot of tips.

Hi List,

I'm giving some thought to offering a 10% discount to clients that commit to two or more tunings in a twelve month cycle.

I would have them sign a contract to that effect and transaction would be done via credit or debit card, and would take place on a specific date of that month, even if the tuning had not been done yet.

Any thoughts?
