Greetings, Thank you for help, especially sug adding the glue to the splint. Husband is fine, on his arm, he had a pattern scrape from the weave of a basket which sat on the piano, nothing serious, thankfully. He has no action bracket marks as it cracked while action was bolted in, from the impact of piano falling backward. . Carding is the term they taught us in school, for sanding the hammers' felt to alleviate the grooves. Splints; since the action bracket is cracked horizontally, I thought drilling 2 holes in each side of the bracket (one above the crack on each side and one below the crack on each side) and splinting it together with 2 small steel plates and screws. I hadnt thought of the glue or J-weld but those are good ideas. Thank you!
