As someone else mentioned this sounds to me like a longitudinal mode frequency. Change the pitch of the note and see if the pitch of the whine changes or if it goes away. dp David M. It turned out that I needed to voice it down, it was very "hot" and it "over-excited" the string. Needling made the leak go away. Good luck. tg
