How does one attach any meaningful hourly rate to a creative project
such as the authorship of a book? Or the months of thinking,
preparation, and any-spare-moment tweaking that go into the writing of a

(say) 2000-word article that earns some flat fee? Or the preparation
time and expertise that went into the playing of a concert that earned
some flat fee?
