Chickering Quarter grand 122 scale Action redesign.

I'm considering replacing the hammer and repetiton flange rail in order to 
ditch the brass flanges on a complete geometry redesign on this action.  

I've got the various geometries down and proofed on autocad. 

I was planning on running a molded maple rep rail and flat hammer shank
rail. 
Before I model it, is there some reason why ditching the existing steel
rails
would be a bad idea?
