Hexagonal, octagonal, what's a couple of sides among friends?

I know you guys have seen, handled, and worked with Renner
parts for a whole lot of years collectively, so why don't you
know that the shanks aren't hexagonal?

Meanwhile, Greg, what is the key height, dip, aftertouch,
hammer blow distance, hammer bore lengths, and such. Looking
at the setup from the bottom up should tell you something of
what's happening.
