Hi Ric. I face the same thing with my latest Knabe 1877 : the keybed is divided into many pieces, at the back obviously to conjure humidity swings, and at the front, indeed, same : the front side of the keybed is mobile, and is floating, unless you screw it tight enough to contact the keyframe. I don't believe that it goes about facilitating the shift movement. Most obvious effect for me is 1° thump sound, and 2° finger landing feeling. I'm sure there are some sound issues behind. Best regards. Stéphane Collin. -----Original Message----- From: pianotech-bounces at ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of Richard Brekne Sent: vendredi 16 novembre 2007 22:37 To: caut at ptg.org; pianotech at ptg.org Subject: Bedding the Patent Action Hi I have a question about the Bluthner Patent Grand Action. Is there some reason why the front rail should be floating about 3 mm off the keybed ?
