  It looks to me like a plate wedge that goes between the plate horn and the belly rail.

  It's a mystery to me, but hopefully not to you.  This part fell into the keybed of a Knabe grand piano while I was removing the plate and soundboard.  Now that I am replacing the plate, I do wonder where this goes?

   

  Any help?
