A rectangular block of wood sitting on the floor with a HUGE load 1/4 of the way in from one edge will sit there quite nicely for the rest of your life without flipping over. Bridge roll is, of course, soundboard failure, and there's no reason I can think of that off center unisons would contribute to soundboard failure. A look at the spreadsheet with the resulting lengths, however will most likely show little reason not to center them - thus avoiding the whole thing. > *What good is cake if I can't eat it.
