Center Pin

This is what my granfather and father did. And I keep doing it and never had problems. Will I live long enough to see problems appear ? I doubt it.

There have been discussions on this list that included recommendations of wiping the center pin through greasy hair or on the side of one's nose to provide good lubrication.
