Phasing/fazing

Hey now to all,

Well my next question is about phasing or fazing? Not sure how to spell it
correctly.

I took Roger Jolley's all day class on piano prep, unfortunately I had to
leave half way through the afternoon session as my daughter was graduating
from HS that evening.

Roger used the term phasing on a few occasions mostly when talking about
voicing and strings.

Could some one be so kind as to clarify this to me. What is phasing? (how
ever it is spelled)
