Soak them in water for a while to remove all the old glue that has stuck on there, then polish them with ketchup.  (Wash off the ketchup when you're done!)

Anyone have an heirloom recipe for cleaning their brass key bushing cauls? 
I've got a set that's getting pretty grubby, of course, they're not mine, 
they belong to............a friend.  Yeah...... they're a friends grubby 
cauls..............
