Bill, as I said before the 2 x 4's or even 1 x 4's are very important. It
could get away from you if you don't use them. Also, be sure to strap the
piano to the tilter for added safety.

Thanks Isaac, I can make a few calls to techs in my area and see if anyone
is doing a dolly install. Unfortunately I can't make your class. any chance
you could post the highlights.

Incidentally, I'm not inexperienced in using the tipper, I've done many
rebuilds, restrings etc. etc. I'm just concerned about having the piano get
away from you when the wheels of the dolly hit the floor, but maybe that's
not a problem?

Anything else you can share would be appreciated.

  Hi,Bill!

Piano shop tilter does the trick for installation....I would reccomend to
observe an experienced tech to do it...I will teach repeat class on that
topic in Grand Rapids,so,hope to see you there.....As everything
else, installing the Twin dollies is not as complicated,as it looks-it's even
more so...There are a few tricks in tipping piano over without injuring
yourself or dropping a piano....Hope,it helps....Isaac

Anyone have a procedure for installing twin dollies on an old upright
without a helper?

I'm thinking about a long lever or jacking system to lift one end at a time,
but haven't come up with anything that seems safe.

Thanks in advance.
