how to politely ask for a raise

I do a post card mailing every month and include on the postcard what my
rates are. I just raised them last month and started posting the new rates
without any explanation. So far there is no resistance and I am busier than
ever. If people ask I just mention that fuel prices are killing me and they
are usually okay with that.
