It's been a while since I've worked on a Chickering Quarter Grand. Neat little pianos. I love this treble area - If one were to redesign rim in the tradition of Fandrich/Nossaman/etc., I suspect there would be no call for a treble fish on this piano! I like it!




And check out how Jonas & Co. built in an excellent treble belly rail brace with the rim. It's a sawn rim (softwood it looks like) and this picture is of what is directly underneath the area in the picture above. A very well built piano. I'd love to do a complete re-do on one of these.
