String breakage in Charles Walter

We have 15 Walter studios and I've never replaced a string on any of
them - and I get to replace lots of strings on other pianos. There's
always the possibility of a batch of bad wire but normally I'd say that
string breaking is not a Walter characteristic.

Subject: String breakage in Charles Walter

Had two strings break during tuning a Charles Walter S#503509 a couple
of days ago. Wondering if anyone else has found chronic string
breakage problems in pianos of this vintage. There have been other
strings replaced in this piano. I'm considering a complete
restringing. Am I off base?
