 Ah well, Ron, it's only my romantic imagination that sees piano technicians/rebuilders as having specific worn spots on our bodies that we share in common. Maybe it's just worn spot on my brain!

Your eyesight's going Paul. It's nothing quite that specific, 
but just general cumulative daily abuse, saddle grade overall 
rhinoceros hide, dry and delaminating in the higher use spots. 
It's a good thing we heal up some overnight, or I'd have run 
out of fingers many years ago.?

Good thing there's masking tape too.?
