As I sent my post, I hesitated, because I knew I was being a little bit smarty pants. But I had not thought of the possibility of the factory setting. Wow! 2000 regulations. I am as impressed as I am humbled. I'll bet you can do a pretty efficient action regulation by now.

That'll teach me to open up my smart alec mouth!

Terry, Yes you are correct. One grand a day, 5 a week at the bench in a factory and that included voicing. No tuning during the day. That was night time and weekend work. It was a 45 minute drive each way to work. Yes I was very busy. Those were the start up days. I had to work to buy a house and raise a family.

Regulated over 2,000 pianos in a corrected 20 year carrier? That's 200 regulations per year. That's almost one per day. Joe Garrett's labor guide alots about 8 hours for a partial regulation and 13 hours for a full regulation. Not to mention voicing. Not to mention driving to the job. Sorry to nit-pick, but you must be very busy! Have you ever tuned a piano?

After being taught by a master technician 8 hours a day, five day a week for about 1 year, and having regulated and voiced over 2000 pianos and being in this business for 11 years,
