Joe; According to Baldwin, "bearing is set at the factory for each individual instrument. Typical zero rock shim thickness values with the Baldwin Bearing Gage may be 0.01 to 0.04 in extreme treble, 0.01 to 0.02 in the mid- treble, 0.005 to 0.015 in the middle of treble bridge, and 0.005 to 0.025 at tenor end of the treble bridge. Values for the bass bridge may be 0.005 to 0.035. Any change in the value of bearing across the scale should be gradual".
