Pinblock transfer agent

Try dissolving it in denatured alcohol (the blue chalk as well if you use
that). It dissolves faster, goes on a bit better and dries faster.

For coating the flange prior to epoxy treatment, Trewax floor wax works
well. I use the paste wax.

A pound can of it (325 mesh) jumped up at me, waving it's arms
yelling "I'm really cheap! Buy me!" at an estate sale, so I
bought it - really cheap. Googling produces some sources.

It dries out really quickly and doesn't stick to the plate
nearly as well as what they used at the factory, but it's
quick and easy. There's probably a better vehicle, but I
haven't pursued it. I expect that whatever is on the plate was
the same stuff used for bridge tops. I was told the vehicle
was beer, but you know about those "Iwastolds".

Could use some research though...
