Yes, a little crown, about 1-2 mm both before and after teardown. And lots of dirt in the eye. ;-) Dean Dean May cell 812.239.3359 PianoRebuilders.com 812.235.5272 Terre Haute IN 47802 _____ From: pianotech-bounces at ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of erwinspiano at aol.com Sent: Saturday, June 07, 2008 10:12 AM To: pianotech at ptg.org Subject: Re: Hallet Davis teardown update Dean Sorry Selective reading again. I agree. No advantage. Without the strings on is there any board crown when measured with a string on the bottom? A raised platform for the plate to sit on. When I went to check downbearing I was amazed to find positive downbearing on one note and negative on the next. I told you it had agraffes on the bridge, right? Well one had high holes and the next one had low holes all the way down the scale. It appears to be set up for zero net downbearing. If that is the case, I don't think there would be any advantage in install the suspension bolts. I have a spreadsheet program for scaling developed by Doug Rhodes: <http://www.mmdigest.com/Tech/drhodes_strng.html> http://www.mmdigest.com/Tech/drhodes_strng.html My wife has just called me to the table: Belgium waffles with fresh picked Indiana strawberries. Beautiful legs baby!! I'll bet it has the raised wooden paltform for the plate to sit on. You may be better off putting a the new adjustablee suspension bolts in. Having fun yet?
