Getting the alignment right can be a bit tricky especially if the bolts don't go in exactly vertical. Using a drill that has a centering bubble gauge built in is helpful. You can also always remove a bit of material from the plate holes with a round file. David Love davidlovepianos at comcast.net www.davidlovepianos.com . With 17 threaded studs sticking up it was important that they be closely aligned with the plate holes. I had to stand on the plate & jump up & down on it to get it to drop in.
