The attached photos are a rosewood carved concert grand, being built at the Hailun factory in Ningbo, China. The finished piano will be featured at the opening ceremonies for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. There is no veneer on the piano. The entire piano is covered with carving that is 5-6 mm deep. The dragons are symbolic of the ancient dynasties and emperors, and the phoenix, of a prince, or emperor to be. After the Olympics the piano will be given to the son of the Chairman, sort of their modern-day prince. Frank Emerson -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
