Wim, I have many pianos with full cover and complete damp-chaser systems. That is the only way to stabilize them. In some conditions, if the cover stays off too long and there is no under cover (covers the underside rim to rim) it can change pretty quickly. Then you'll need an under cover as well. Don't worry about a cold concrete floor or no air conditioning, the humidistat will do what is needed.
