I recall my first encounter with an aluminum plate piano. The lady had
beautifully polished hardwood (oak) floors, I took the front off, put my
temperment strip in struck my tuning form pulled on the tuning pin to raise
the pitch of the A and the whole piano moved! It was a Winter with
semi-tight pins and on that floor it just wanted to take off. I did the rest
of the tuning with my knees pressed up under the keybed to keep it in place.
