[pianotech] Quiet System

When I booked the appointment, the fellow said he was looking for a new tuner because he wasn't happy with the previous one. Though he told me the piano had the system, he didn't say that there was anything wrong with it. When I got there, the missus was the person at home and immediately started talking about a problem with the system... Doesn't it figure? Well, I told her I'd have to get some information on it--or better yet, maybe I'll just refer them to a friend who installs Piano Disc systems. Yeah, that's what I'll do! Knowing what to turn off, unplug and disconnect to service the piano is just about all I can handle on these souped-up instruments.... :-)

Thanks for your help.

Yeah, Barb, it's one of the hazards of being in the business for so long. I forgot about the anytime piano. Similar specs on the action. Let off is wider than usual to allow for the hammer to pass through let off prior to touching the stop rail. From memory, 10 mm.

When it was a current production feature, the factory reps were ........ uh .......... unwilling to share their knowledge of the product. (dodging disrespect)

I think I asked for a tech write up on the product at that time and I sure can't remember ever getting one. As I recall it came with a custom tone module with a handful of voices.

I hope the call went well for you.
