[pianotech] Primer Color

It makes sense on the surface but I wonder just how many coats are required
to really make it opaque. I probably put 3-5 light coat. My unofficial
observations concur with Al that it makes the color a bit warmer.

If the gold paint is completely opaque, it won't matter. If it isn't, the
red paint under it will enhance the look. Red paint is recommended under a
gold leafing project. I don't do plate reguilding, but I'm sure that some
manufacturers use red primer under the gold. I believe green can also be
used under gold.

My imagination or does anyone else notice that on the plate gold looks a bit
better over a red primer than a grey one?
