Cory Key-Brite takes the goo off fast. My first year on staff at a university I cleaned the keys of each piano at the first tuning. I'd spray from the left and from the right, wait for the goo turn a whitish color and use a soft rag to wipe the stuff off. The job didn't take long. On big build up, I'd make a second and sometimes even a light third pass. A few times I used the product to get the same sort of built-up goo off piano case parts where either the teacher or a performer regularly rested his/her hand--the Key-Brite would turn the goo a light color and I'd just wipe it off. Happy cleaning. It's really gross! needs to be sanded off! I HATE doing it! But....I do....(A razor blade works great, but, ooooooh, very nasty to think of what it is!!!) I try to, once per semester, take some Lysol wipes and go over the keytops of our 110 pianosx88keys, but they all don't always get it for obvious reasons! I did do this during the winter break before Spring semester started.....I'm noticing a few less gagging students around here! maybe it really helps! (I still try not to grab the hand rails up and down the stairs when I'm able...) I play, for sure, but the thing I hate the most is playing slimy hand-lotion laden keys! Ugggh! Great answers for sure. Two great opinions, and I suppose , if ten more players answered, they most likely would be similar, or somewhere in between.
