I did once encounter a square capstan that the real capstan wrench wouldn't fit, but the universal did. That's in 25 years. So it's good to have it on hand, I guess. Ron N OK, I'll 'fess up, I didn't buy a false beat suppressor, when I heard about them I was doing a lot of work at a music store with a band instrument repair shop and I had one of the guys there make one for me, it fits in my combination handle and everything! I couldn't tell you where it is at the moment, I used to carry it in my "backup" toolbox but then I changed to a different one and I think it stayed in that one. I did think of another semi-useless tool, the universal capstan regulator, I'm certain we all have one, my question is when did any of you use it last? The pointed end won't fit in most of the capstans with holes unless you grind it down, there are far superior tools for the square shouldered capstans. Another of my tools that is in my backup toolbox but I wonder why? Mike -- I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
