I agree with all that you say Paul. As for my choice to hire a geek, I can tell you how much I paid if you like, but suffice to say I recovered my investment in three weeks from the new clients. I'm pretty green as a piano tech but I really suck at web marketing. Once I accepted this fact, I decided to put my efforts into optimizing my technician skills and I hired a nerd to optimize my page. I also engaged an advertising friend to help me with my logo and branding and another writer friend to help me smooth out some of my copy (textual content). I'm sure that web marketing will play a larger or lesser or role depending on your geographical location and may even be overkill if you already have a full client list.
