In using one of these; is there a reason to go with .370 dimension rather than the full .390...other than the fact that .370 can be had off the shelf, and you need a lathe to get to .39? ? Seems like .39 would skip the shim bit which always seems to turn out to be an exercise in inefficiency. On the other hand .370 allows the tool to be used in various gradations.....?
