Hi, Dont know so Ima goina ask. Is there a crown ridge that sort of follows the bridge line? Could one cut kerfs in the ribs radiating away from the bridge line and glue in wood shims to induce more crown? my thinking would be two shims each side of the bridge line in a V from bass to treble. Or perhaps in the bass 3 wedges to treble one wedge. Dont know but have a victim in mind. <G> Joe Goss RPT Mother Goose Tools imatunr at srvinet.com www.mothergoosetools.com ----- Original Message ----- From: Gene Nelson To: pianotech at ptg.org Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2009 8:56 AM Subject: Re: [pianotech] FW: laminated ribs again Consistency is only one benefit of laminated ribs; at least with the process I use and present in my seminars. I glue up the laminated ribs in carefully curved cauls so the crown radius is molded into the structure of the rib. It is a process I find to be both effective and elegant. ddf Seminars? Would you be willing to elaborate just a bit about your presentation about this? Any seminars scheduled in the near future?
