In Mike's defense, my question was rhetorical - I knew the answer. But then in Ron's defense - I also was hoping for a reply with lots of formulas, vectors and other mathematical legerdemain. Just the same, Ron's reply was highly entertaining on this boring morning mostly spent in the entrails of a Steinway D, (mounted on an unflipped truck, by the way) regulating dampers... And wondering if the California budget standoff will be resolved in time to move this beast out of the Piano Shop to the Orchestra Rehearsal Room where it belongs for the start of the semester. There is a freeze on all expenditures - we can't pay the movers until there is a budget...
