Since an olde friend invented this system years ago, I can answer with a better solution.
Keep the original adjusting bolt w/knob, just weld another nut onto it. (one that will match up with a cheapie fender puller, from your local automotive parts house.) Ready made for pulling bridge pins, key pins and nose hairs.<G> This system is less traumatic to the wood, rather than the other systems I've seen. YMMV
