Right, I always do cork action tapes, in the piano. The action parts are in place.
The action tapes I replace with the action out, are the blanks, which are cut to size, and glued.
I haven't been entirely satisfied with the clip ons.

        Matthew -

If you are ONLY replacing the bridle straps, I don't understand why are you considering removing the action at all, much less doing it on the floor of the customer's home. IMO it is MUCH simpler to do it with the action in the piano - perfect working height, jacks not escaping, proper bridle tension easy to assess, etc. Shouldn't take more than an hour or so.

Of course, if you are doing other work in addition, that would change things..

I will doing a bridle strap job next week.

When I have been doing these, I would take the action home and return it the next day. Really the only reason I have been doing that is because I would rather not do the job in the customers home on the floor, sometimes with bad lighting.

What kind of things do ya'll do to do this job, and others, in the customers home?

                Thanks,
