When I tuned with a laptop computer and the screen started to fail, I upgraded to the latest and greatest only to find out that the hotter CPU needed to have a fan going most of the time which was very near the microphone. The fan didn't blow on the strings but the fan noise was definitely a problem. I soon after bought a PocketPC. If you can deal with the tone of the fan, then you might cut yourself a piece of Masonite or aluminum to slip under the computer, something big enough, or expandable, to span the struts of a grand while you're at it. That might deflect the hot air. Tom Cole Court Stewart wrote: > I had been planning on switching to my netbook (Asus EEE 701) to run > Tunelab (I'm currently using a PocketPC).
