HARMONIUM, Kunstharmonium, Celesta, Harmonium-Celesta, piano, grandpiano, glockenspiel, all of those were produced in the Schiedmayer companies. What’s more: Celesta and Glockenspiel are – at this very moment - still in production. The Schiedmayer company is alive and kicking under guidance of CEO mrs. Elianne Schiedmayer. On her shoulders rests a heritage of almost 300 years now. And she is proud about that. She has proven to be strong enough to bear this heritage and hold it in prosperity! In 2037 the Tricentennial will be celebrated, remembering the start of building clavichords in 1735 by Balthasar Schiedmayer at the village of Erlangen, just north of Nürnberg in Bayern. This year, A.D. 2009, we remember the start of the Schiedmayer company/companies situated in Stuttgart in the part of Germany designated as Baden-Württemberg. Sunday 28^th of June a Celebration of the Bicentennial will be held at the Stuttgart Conservatory, including a performance of the 4 Awardees of the 3^rd International Celesta Composition Contest. A vast number of 145 compositions from 36 countries took part to the contest. The four winning compositions will be premiered on this Celebration day. My personal contacts with mrs. Elianne Schiedmayer started about three years ago based upon the then upcoming Bicentennial. Hence I am proud to be on the list of invited guests. Because I had to make a decision to buy an additional lens for my digital camera for this “Once in a lifetime Event” I promise to publish lots of pictures afterwards.
