Greetings, I'm a brand new member of the PTG as of this month. I'm also fairly new in this industry. I do, however, have a strong desire to learn. With that preamble in place, here's the problem I came across yesterday... I tuned a 12 year old Yamaha GH1B for a nearby High School yesterday. It's been primarily used by the choir and drama departments. Due to limited extra time with the piano yesterday because of their graduation ceremonies I was unable to pull the action out and take a closer look, however, the photo below should show the problem. It appears as if the hammer rest felt has been displaced to the sides by the hammer shank. This occurs only in the bass section and it occurs off and on throughout the range from A0 to A#2. The tenor section to the high treble looks fine. Any input, ideas, or things I should look for as to the cause of this would be greatly appreciated. I should be able to get back to this piano in about 2-3 weeks due to their scheduling. Thanks, Rob McCall Murrieta, CA -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
