If Terry doesn't want it, I would be very happy to take a look at that program. Thus, I have a copy, complete with the hasp, which you are free to have if you need it. If you don't want it, it's free for the taking to anyone else. Second, to migrate away from the program, I had to buy the upgrade. The original version wouldn't let you export the database. So, I had to buy the upgrade in order to quit using it. Irritating. I Don't know which version you have. To migrate away, I had to create a CSV file. Then, that can be imported into the new program. There are always lots of opinions on which programs to use. I'm just using Outlook and Quickbooks. To me the shortcoming of PTBiz was that I couldn't sync the calendar with my Pocket PC. As an accounting program, it kept track of income, but not expenses. Other than that, I liked it. My PC computer is old and my browser imploded - apparently so much is screwed up with it that nothing short of a complete operating system re-install will correct the problem - so, I'll probably just get a new computer - probably a Mac Mini. So, I either need to re-install PTBiz, or switch to a new database. I know much of this has been addressed on Pianotech - but like I say, I can't search archives because my web browser is DOA. I thought I remembered talk of the PTBiz author recently offering a copy of the program that doesn't require the access code to install it. I like PTBiz - it does what I need it to do - I'd just as soon keep using it if there isn't any pressing reason to switch to something else. Does anyone know what the current state of PTBiz is? Anyone have a contact for the author? I suspect this next question is nothing but a big can of worms, but: IS there another scheduling/database program that is EASY to use (read: I don't like messing with computers!!!!!) and meets the needs of a piano tech (including finances)? Has anyone figured out a way to migrate PTBiz data to another easy to use current program? I just want the darn thing to work..... Thanks!
