Yes, true,
It is the material that is used on the wheels, softer, more absorbent than 
metal to wood contact and will soak up SOME vibration from the piano case.

Nice Steinway B in a 200 seat new auditorium in a small college.
I asked why the instrument wasn't on a dolly  ( it is moved constantly)  and 
the reply had to do with the notion that the truck de-coupled the instrument 
from the stage floor, thereby  diminishing the power and tone.  Any 
thoughts?
