[pianotech] key position at rest

Hi Julia

It was not the key rest felt that was 2 mm. The 2 mm strips were added
to the key end felt.... the cushion that lifts the damper levers. The
key rest felt was 4 mm roughly.

The angled capstan idea was dropped years ago but was common enough
around the turn of the century... 1900's. I'm really not sure what they
were thinking about when they did that, but even S&S had them for a while.

Cheers
RicB

    Greetings,

I dont see why a mfgr would want the capstans on an angle. Perhaps
the factory at the time, put the wrong thickness of back rail cloth
on it. 2mm Seems awfully thin!
