Not gonna happen tomorrow, but it will happen. By the way, my older ETD is a SATll. Trusty and very sturdy, and will always have a place in my tool kit. While I was experimenting with my aural tunings I saw no need to update to the lll or any of the other fine ETD's on the market until I heard Tunic because it closely matches what I am after aurally every time. As far as your comment of the difference I will find, if any..there's differences with my aural tunings. Why wouldn't there be differences with Tunic? I know you want numbers, but I will give you an aesthetic example for now...re-built Conover77..new everything except bridges and board..tuned aurally and client was happy. Now - remember..I am a deciple of Virgil and David Andersen, so the 3:1 was heavily in play(2-octave temperament), along with 'pure as can be' 5ths. The client and I were very happy with the tuning. The next tuning on that piano was with Tunic..and the differences were very noticable in octaves 4-6. I was consistently on the high side of the Tunic reading..not alot, but enough to give notice and mention here. The sound that came from the instrument..the best way for me to describe it..it was a "swell" of sound. I have described it to David Andersen as 'angels coming from the soundboard'..and that sound is very similar, if not the same as what he can aurally produce more consistently than me. Granted, David works on better instruments from day to day, so he has that opportunity and privilege...and I'm sure he's going to tell me to RAISE MY RATES when he reads this!, but I am the 2nd highest in the area, and I sleep well, most of the time, at night! I encourage any of you still curious about this software to read Kent Swafford's excellent article in this month's Journal about Tunic. I will be in Grand Rapids and I will have the software with me if you're interested in trying it out for yourself. Is that ok Bernhard?!?!? -Phil Bondi(Fl)
