[pianotech] Spam, anyone?

Don't worry about losing your piano. The last thing these folks want is your
piano. They will over pay and want you to send the balance to their
"shipper", often domociled in some small town in the middle of no where, but
sent through a money gram. And for your trouble they will allow you to keep
$100 of the over payment. And as has been stated, the check is no good and
you will lose everything you sent and bank fees.

I see these all of the time. I usually will play along and they often send
their check overnight. I figure I am raising their cost of doing business
and maybe keeping them away from some unsuspecting victim.
