Quoting from the story concerning John: Billy Wayne Whitehead, 34, of Oakland is accused of second-degree assault, third-degree assault, failure to perform the duties of a driver and driving with a suspended license. He was arraigned on the charges Thursday in Douglas County Circuit Court. According to court records, Judge George Ambrosini denied a motion to have the man’s $50,000 bail reduced, and instead raised it to $150,000. To me, it sounds as if the justice system got things right (raising bail) for once. I just wish they would add a zero or two.
