That would be good, except there is a statute of limitations.  It differs from each state, but does exist.

I remember that Syd Stone many years ago saying that he would let the non-payers and the no-shows accumulate until he had a few to file with small claims court.  Then they would all appear in a row on the court docket. He said that he won every one of them, and needed to say very little.  Apparently, the judges are very sympathetic to workers who show up only to find no one home. And also, to workers who have not been paid.   --- Tom Gorley
