Hi David, A few years ago, a couple friends of mine had a family Steinway GP shipped from Germany to NYC. They had to get it OK'd through the Dept. of Agriculture, showing that it was a family affair, and the piano was going to be used as a musical instrument, noone having intentions of reselling ivory keytops! I imagine it would be a similar process going the other direction. One would probably need to contact the govt. of New Zealand.
